Pensamientos Espirituales* (*Spiritual Thoughts):
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” Matthew 7:7
“My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.”Psalm 121:2
Lunes* (*Monday)! We had a P-day de multizona* (*multi-zone) here in Huanuco! :) After internet, we went to the feria* (*fair) before working our way through a crowded parade. Today was Huanuco’s aniversario* (*anniversary), so it was una locura* (*crazy)!!! After lunch, we all went as a multizona and played kickball at a stadium! :) It was incredibly fun, and I was happy to be with Cruz and Keeler again, just like old times in La Selva. :) We sat in on their zone meeting before a delicious dinner of completos. :) They have the BEST pension* (*lady who cooks their meals) here!!! :)
On Tuesday, we had the multizone conference! We had capacitaciones* (*training) on being examples and being valientes* (*brave) before practices and games. :) We took lots of pictures and talked! It was a good escape to heat… but at around 3:30, we journeyed back to Cerro. My gripe* (*flu) took a turn for the worse, but it’s good to be back home. :) We visited Jeny and Delsy, our investigators, and taught them about the Tree of Life. Chevere dia* (*wonderful day). :) I also officially hit 6 months a missionary today! So that’s weird. Time flies here.
On Wednesday, I woke up even more sick than before, so I rested a bit during studies before we left to visit our investigator Evelyn! We taught her about la Restauracion* (*The Restoration) before lunch. Luego* (*Then), we visited our investigator Iris! :) She told us she was thinking of pushing back her baptism date because of family issues, but we talked to her about human weakness from Ether 12:27 and 2 Nefi 4 and committed her to esforzarse* (*strive) for her fech* (*date), the 26th of August! :) We then went to our new investigator, a contact we made last week, and talked a little bit about the Restoration and lots about the love of God through trials. :) We then visited our investigators Katty and Lady and read the Book of Mormon con ellas* (*with them)! :)
Thursday! In the morning, our service activity fell through, so we ended up visiting a less active, Marisol and getting to know her before going and buying more breakfast food. ;) After lunch, we contacted and then visited our investigator, Iris, and taught her about the ten commandments y obediencia* (*and obedience)! :) Luego, we went to our investigator Rebecca and talked about the importance of prayer before visiting our investigator Delsy and talking about la obra missional* (*missionary work). :) To finish off the day, we went to a Noche de Hogar* (*Family Home Evening) at Familia Romero* (*the Romero Family) and ate pancakes (that are actually funnel cakes) and shared 2 Nefi 4 con ellos. Era bacan* (*It was very cool). :)
On Friday, we had normal studies, weekly planning, and lunch before visiting our investigator, Milagros V.! :) We taught about what happens after we die. She’s always got fantastic questions for us. :) Despues* (*Then), we visited our investigator Iris and taught her about following the prophet, obeying the law, and praying always. Luego, we had little luck and walked a lot before going to Ada, a less active, and getting to know her and talking for a while. :) We then visited our investigators Jeny and Delsy and talked about following the prophet! :) My sickness took a turn for the worse today, so I have new pills and ear drops to take! Hopefully they help.:)
Saturday! In the morning, we had a district meeting in San Juan with capacitaciones on how to begin teaching! :) After lunch, we visited our investigator Iris and taught her about el sacerdocio* (*the priesthood). She’s really animada* (*excited) for her baptism next week! :) Luego, nobody was in house and we walked lots, but we contacted a super Catholic woman, Rocio, and talked a bit about the Restauracion* (*Restoration)! Then we went to our investigators Jeny y Delsy and taught them about the importance of servicio* (*service). Despues, we visited Kris, a less active with my nickname as her name (weird) and talked about prayer. :)
On Sunday, I gave a talk on cambio de corazon* (*change of heart) using Alma 36 and 1 Nefi 7 and we ended up teaching Relief Society on matrimonio eterno* (*eternal marriage)! :) After consejo de barrio* (*ward council) and lunch, we visited a jovencita* (*girl) less active, Milagros, and taught about Adan y Eva. We then went to our investigator, Josefina, and read el LDM con ella* (*The Book of Mormon with her) before going to Dora, less active, and explaining ayuno* (*fasting). :) We finished off the day visiting our investigadoras* (*investigators) Jeny and Delsy! We taught them about enduring to the end and ate keke.:) My pension started calling me Hermana Barbie today. It’s like Lima all over again , jaja* (*hahaha)!!! Loving C. D. P.* (*Cerro de Pasco) :)
On to my weekly title: Give Em Heart. In the world we live in, give it your all refers to sports usualmente* (*usually). However, it applies in multiple other facets as well. C. S. Lewis once wrote, “Christ says, ‘Give me all. I don’t want so much of your time and so much of your money and so much of your work. I want you.’” We need to give him our ALL; all of our trust, faith, and love voluntarily. If we come unto Him with broken hearts, contrite spirits, and a desire to change for the better, He will shape us and refine us into what we need to become; If we put in our part and give him our all.
Con amor y mis oraciones para siempre jamas* (*With love and prayers for ever and ever),
