Week 32: Josefina´s Baptism!

Pensamientos Espirituales* (*Spiritual Thoughts): 2 Nefi 4: 20

Lunes* (*Monday)! After studies, internet, and lunch, we decided to adventure hike to La Bandera! :) There was no path and it was pretty steep, so it was really exhausting but incredibly fun! :) We took lots of pictures (you could see ALL of Cerro) and came back to the room and rested for un poquito* (*a bit).:) We then went to Luz, less active, and Nicole, investigator, and read el LDM con ellas* (*The Book of Mormon with them) before going to Tom, converso* (*convert), and talking about ayuno* (*fasting). Chevere P-day* (*fabulous preparation day). :)

On Tuesday, we spent the morning contacting! After lunch, we visited our investigator Milagros V. and taught her about the 10 Commandments and Dia de Reposo* (*the Sabbath)! She hasn´t accepted a baptismal date before- but today, she accepted a fecha for el 8 de Octubre* (*date for October 8th)!!! :) I´ve seen some miracles in the past few weeks for sure. :) We contacted some more before visiting our investigator Olga and taught her about la naturaleza de Dios* (*the nature of God)! Luego* (*Then), we visited our less active Ada and talked about obedience. :)

Miercoles* (*Wednesday) began visitando a Evelyn, investigadora* (*visiting Evelyn, an investigator), and Reading 1 Nefi 1 con ella* (*1 Nephi 1 with her) before contacting! After lunch, we visited Lesly, converso, and read DyC 4 and talked about missionary work. Leaving, my comp fell down the stairs. It was a bit hilarious. :) We read el LDM con Luz* (*The Book of Mormon with Luz), less active, then went to our investigator Mely and Reading the Introduccion del LDM* (*Introduction of the Book of Mormon). Despues* (*Then), we visited our investigator Josefina, planned her baptism, and read her lectura* (*reading). :) We had a reunión with Betto, our misión leader, and the elderes to finish off the day! :)

On Thursday, we did service for Luz, less active, organizing her store! After lunch, we visited our investigator Milagros V. and taught her about the organization of the Church and el sacerdocio* (*priesthood) before Josefina´s entrevista bautismal* (*baptismal interview), which she passed with flying colors! :D Despues, all our citas* (*appointments) fell through, so we went looking for a new cuarto* (*room) to rent all over Cerro and had zero luck. We sang lots of hymns to give us animos* (*encouragement). :) We visited Lesly, less active, and shared Mosiah 24 and I helped her with her English homework.

Viernes* (*Friday)! Today, we planned for Week 3 of the transfer. TIME FLIES. After lunch, we started our ayuno* (*fast) and contacted before Round 2 of House Hunters Pasco again with no success. :( Luego, we visited our investigator Rita and talked about personal revelation con ella* (*with her). Then we visited our investigator Rebecca and read her LDM before going to Lillian, less active, and talking a bit about La Expiacion* (*The Atonement). :) Despues, we visited our investigator Jeny G. and read her LDM before ending the dia visitando* (*day visiting) Karin, menos active* (*less active). We answered a question she had about Isaias. :)

Saturday! We started the dia with a conferencia de zona* (*zone conference). After lunch, we met up with Betto, líder missional* (*mission leader), and the elders and made rice krispie treats for Josefina´s baptism! Despues, Josefina´s baptism paso! :) She bore her testimony after and it was super powerful. She told us she Heard a voice telling her to not be afraid and follow Him. AH. She´s just so great. :) I´m incredibly happy for her!!! Luego, we traveled to San Juan for General Women´s conference! Chevere dia. We also got 5 references today. :)

On Sunday, we had normal church reunions, consejo* (*advice), and lunch before contacting! Luego, we visited our investigator Delsy and talked about the importance of scripture study. Then we went to Sonia, menos activo, and read 2 Nefi 4 con ella before visiting our investigadores Miley and Bety and explaining faith and the Restoration. :) The Restoration´s definitely my favorite thing to share. There´s such a unique and powerful spirit in sharing the First Vision. :) This unique knowledge we possess is just increíble* (*amazing). :)

This week, I´d like to testify that our church leaders are inspired of God. I thought about and wrote down lots of questions I had for General Conference, and, on Saturday, Elder Uchtdorf said lots of things I really needed to hear, mostly about trusting in God. Faith doesn´t change the will of God, but allows us to accept His will and trust in Him. Subsequently, trust in God consists of two parts: trusting in God´s wisdom and trusting in His love. :)

As conference approaches, ponder questions, write them down, and pray. The answers can and will come. :)

Con amor y mis oraciones para siempre jamas* (*With love and prayers forever and ever),

Hermana Schmid
