Semana 38: Feriado y Dias Festivas* (*Week 38: Holiday and Festive Days)!

Pensamientos Espirituales* (*Spiritual Thoughts): Alma 36: 27

Halloween!!! :D Today, Hna Aramayo and I went with Hna Jensen (who just started the mish) and Hna Spitale from Mariscal Castilla to President and Hermana Silva´s house for lunch! We cooked tacos with them and ate with the family. :) Era lo maximo* (*It was the best)!!! :) Despues* (*Then), President Silva gave me a bendicion de salud* (*blessing for health). I know I´ll get better if I follow the food restrictions, take my pills, and most importantly, have FAITH. The Priesthood is so powerful and so real. :) Despues, we came back to Chilca, took out money for November, and went shopping for dinner in Metro! We visited our investigator Bertha and talked about baptismal covenants! Kids in costumes were everywhere trick or treating. Era lo maximo. :D

Martes, Dia de los Vivos* (*Tuesday, Day of the Living)! In the morning, we got lost looking for a nonexistent address. ADVENTURES! :D After lunch, our citas* (*appointments) fell through due to Feriado* (*Holiday) and Dia de los Vivos* (*Day of the Living) (everyone went to pasear* (*to take a walk)) so we ended up going to Sapallanga, el campo* (*in the countryside), and contacting for a while! :) Despues, we visited our investigator Eddy and taught a bit of the Plan of Salvation, focusing on Adam and Eve. :) A bit of a difficult day due to the holiday, but a good time nonetheless. :D

Miercoles, Dia de los Muertos* (*Wednesday, day of the Dead)! In the morning, we had a district meeting and guess who´s in my district? The famous Hermana Dymock from Spanish Fork!! :D So I finally met her, everyone!!! President Silva gave us a capacitacion* (*training) on creative contacting. Era lo maximo!! After lunch, we went to Severina, less active, and talked about the power of fe* (*faith)! Luego* (*Then), we decided to put in practice creative contacting! We went to a cemetery in Sapallanga and EVERYONE was there for Dia de los Muertos, so we contacted up a storm. Era chevere* (*it was cool). :D We then visited Jeffrey, convert, and read el LDM* (*The Book of Mormon) before going to Jessica and helping her with mission prep!

On Thursday, we found a really fantastic new investigator, Yanet!!! She was a reference we got online. We had the HARDEST time finding her (thanks Satan), but por fin* (*finally) we did and we taught her about La Restauracion* (*The Restoration)! :) She is looking for truth and is just fantastic. After lunch, we visited Lorenza, less active, and explained the intro del LDM* (*Introduction of the Book of Mormon) before going to Familia Boza* (*Boza Family), investigators! We taught the Restauracion before going to Luz Maria, less active, and talking about ayuno* (*fasting). Chevere dia* (*Great day). :)

Friday! Despues de almuerzo* (*After lunch), we visited our investigator Liz and explained El Evangelio de Jesucristo* (*The Gospel of Jesus Christ) and she accepted a baptismal date for Nov. 26th! :) Luego, we visited Yanina, less active, and talked about the importance of prayer before going to Sylvia, less active, and explaining the function of prayer! :) It was really difficult to find people en casa hoy, but todo va a estar bien* (*at home today, but everything will be fine). :)

En Sabado* (*On Saturday), we went to Fam. Boza, investigators, in the morning and talked about the importance of having Christ as our foundation! :) We then went to Jessica and helped her more with mission prep. After a hilarious lunch of storytelling, we started our fast and went to Luz Maria, less active! We talked about the Sabbath Day and keeping it holy. After correlacion missional* (*mission correlation meeting), we went to our investigator Eddy! She shared with us the trials she´s been through and we talked about the importance of opposition in all things and trials to help refine us. :) Everybody passes through trials and hard times to refine us and help us grow. :)

Fast Sunday! After church and lunch, we visited with Erika for a bit before going to Yanina and Yoselyn, less actives, and discussing la obediencia* (*obedience)! :) We had no suerte* (*luck) despues and went all over Chilca looking for people to visit, but todos habian salido* (*everyone had left). :( We ended up visiting Jessica for more mission prep help. :)

Vern P. Stanfill shared 3 points in Oct 2015 conference that have made an incredible impact on my life. ´First, no matter how intense the darkness of doubt, we choose how long and to what extent we allow it to influence us. Second, we must trust in the Lord in order to develop spiritual strength within ourselves. Third, there is no darkness so dense, so menacing, or so difficult that it cannot be overcome by light.´

We can CHOOSE how long doubt affects us. Choosing light, happiness and truth is always an option- we must choose to go forward with faith and light and then be a light for others.

I challenge all of you this week to SHARE THE GOSPEL with someone! Share your testimony, invite them to church, give them a Book of Mormon... something. You never know who is out there waiting for this light to enter their lives. :)

Con amor y mis oraciones para siempre jamas* (*With love and prayers forever and ever),

Hermana Schmid
