Week 41: #IluminaElMundo* (*#LighttheWorld)

Pensamientos Espirituales* (*Spiritual Thoughts): 3 Nephi 15: 12

P-day yet again! Today, Aramayo and I played a few games of pool before taking Erika with us to play basketball in the park! :D Height is an EXTRA advantage here haha. Despues* (*Then), we played Monopoly Electronic Bank! Probably an old thing in the States, but I've never seen or played it before. Demasiado tecnologia para mi ya* (*Too much technology for me now). :) It was incredibly fun! Despues we visited our less active Sylvia and explained templos* (*temples) before going to a noche de hogar* (*Family Home Evening) at Erika´s and explaining los deberes del sacerdocio* (*the duties of the priesthood) and playing games. :)

Tuesday our district meeting got rescheduled, so we dedicated our morning to contacting! :) After lunch, our citas* (*appointments) fell through, so we contacted un poco mas* (*a little more). Today, the sun was super fuerte* (*strong), but a good day nonetheless!!! We visited our investigator Paulina and talked about profetas* (*prophets) before buying a cake to take to our less active, Elizabeth, whose son Erick turned 14 today! They were SO happy and grateful. :) We talked about la obediencia* (*obedience) before going to our investigator Eddy. She told us un poco mas* (*a little more) about her pruebas* (*tests/trials). She is SO strong and this gospel can help her so much. :) I'm just grateful for the opportunity I have to make others truly happy. :)

Wednesday! Today we had a district meeting in the morning, where we talked about the importance of high expectations. :) After lunch, Hermana Silva nos acompañaba* (*was with us)! :) We visited Edu, converso* (*convert), and explained El Evangelio de Jesucristo* (*The Gospel of Jesus Christ) before contacting like CRAZY! We have a new goal as a mission to have 140 contacts weekly per companionship. Dificil, pero no imposible* (*Hard, but not impossible). :) We then visited our investigator Rubi and explained the Plan of Salvation before going to Mirella, new investigator, and explaining La Restauracion* (*The Restoration)! :) Despues, we visited with Luz Maria, less active, and talked about temple ordinances.:)

Thanksgiving Thursday! :D Thanksgiving doesn't exist here. So I didn't do anything special haha. :) In the morning, we contacted lots and visited a few contacts from yesterday, talking about prayer! After lunch, we visited Severina, less active, and talked about the importance of the Santa Cena* (*sacrament) before going to help a member with her maestras visitants* (*visiting teaching). Despues, we visited our investigator Eddy and talked about la fe* (*the faith). :)

Things I'm grateful for:

1. My companion!

2. My fantastic pension and her family that always make me laugh.

3. My AMAZING family, friends, and loved ones back at home and here in the mission. :)

4. The ability I have to share the good news of Christ with EVERYONE! :D

5. This restored Gospel and the love of God

6. The atoning sacrifice of my Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ.

7. THE ETERNAL HAPPINESS that this Gospel brings!

8. Temples and the saving ordinances available to us.

9. The beautiful country of Peru. :)

10. The amazing plan that God has prepared so that we can return to live with Him as families!

En Viernes* (*On Friday), I went to San Carlos on divisions with Hna Alvarez from Ecuador! :) We got to visit and teach some really fantastic people. One of the coolest experiences was when we visited a less active RM* (*returned missionary) and talked with her about the Restauracion* (*The Restoration). We were able to help her remember her mission and strengthen her testimony of the restored gospel. :) Just a good day!

Saturday! Back in Chilca. :) We visited Maria Asto, less active, and talked about prayer before going to correlacion missional* (*missionary correlation)! Luego* (*Then), we visited our investigator Mirella! She's fantastic and so receptive to the gospel, and her husband wants to start learning too! :D Si o si* (*yes or yes), she's coming to church tomorrow! We then went to our investigator Eddy and talked about faith and the Atonement. She's had to go through so many difficult trials, but it has really prepared her to receive this Gospel. :) Despues, we went to Luz Maria, less active, and talked about diezmos* (*tithes).:)

Sunday was fantastic! They had PRIMARY PROGRAM. I didn't think that existed in Peru haha! But we had six investigators come to church, including Mirella! They´re all so great. :) After consejo* (*advice) and lunch, our citas* (*appointments) ALL fell through, so we went Christmas carol contacting in the pouring rain and had an absolutely marvelous time! :D We found some great new people to visit too! We then went to our investigator Lucia and talked about bautismo* (*baptism) and the gift of the Holy Ghost before going to Luz Maria, menos active* (*less active), and talking about servicio* (*service). :)

"The joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives." – Nelson

This week, the Church launched its Christmas campaign and video- Ilumina el Mundo* (*Light the World)! It's absolutely beautiful! When we make Christ and serving others as He served the center of our lives, EVERYTHING changes. We become a light in a darkened world. Be the change you wish to see in the world. Let the eternal and everlasting light and love of Christ shine through you. Ilumina el mundo. :)

Desafio* (*Challenge) for this week- The Church Christmas campaign! They have things to do EVERY DAY. :)

Con amor y mis oraciones para siempre jamas* (*With love and my prayers forever and ever),

Hermana Schmid
