P-day! :) Today, we played lots of card games (I taught Aramayo how to play Phase 10!) and then walked lots to el centro de Huancayo* (*the center of Huancayo)... to go to the clinica* (*clinic) for my comp! We spent all afternoon there. She´s got a ganglian cyst on her foot and is going to get it operated next week after the medico del area* (*area doctor) approves the surgery. So yeah. :) She was told to rest, so we took the night off resting. :)

Martes* (*Tuesday)! Today, we had a district meeting. and a district party because 2 elders (E´Scholle and E´Mulatillo) are finishing their missions this cambio* (*transfer)! The sisters of La Libertad helped us set up a surprise Feliz Muerte* (*Happy Death) party funeral-style. :) It was incredibly funny and fun! After lunch, we visited Severina, less active, and talked about the importance of putting God first. Luego* (*Then), we went to our investigators Melanio and Saturnina and explained arrepentimiento y la Expiacion de Cristo* (*repentance and the Atonement of Christ) before visiting a little viejita* (*old lady) investigator, Maria Jose, and singing hymns for her. She doesn't understand much, but she loves the hymns. :)

On Wednesday, we did lots of contacting in crazy rain! :) We visited our investigator Gloria and explained La Restauracion* (*The Restoration) before visiting Elizabeth, less active, and her sister Mari, investigator! We taught them about the Plan de Salvacion* (*Plan of Salvation). :) Luego* (*Then), we went to a Noche de Hogar * (*Family Home Evening) at Familia de la Cruz, miembros* (*The Cruz Family, members), where we talked about the power of prayer and the importance of gratitude. Chevere dia* (*fabulous day). :)

En Jueves* (*On Thursday), the morning was spent doing service- helping decorate for a little girl's birthday party! :) After almuerzo* (*lunch), we visited Severina, menos active* (*less active), and talked about the power of the Atonement before visiting our investigator Rosemary and talking about the ability we have to change and the importance of la oracion* (*prayer). :) She's really closed off and doesn't want to listen anymore and tomorrow is going to move to Huancavelica. It´s really sad to see such a miracle volver duro e irse a otro lado* (*turn around hard and go the other way), but hey, algun dia* (*someday). :) Despues* (*Afterwards), we went to Fam, Llacua, conversos* (*converts), and taught them about the Diez Mandamientos* (*Ten Commandments)! Para terminar* (*To finish) we visited Graciela, miembro* (*member), and talked with her. :) We´ve had a goal to visit with a member daily to strengthen confianza* (*confidence) and in turn strengthen the ward, and it's been absolutely fantastic! :D

Viernes* (*Friday)! We weekly planned in la mañana* (*the morning). After lunch, we had correlacion* (*correlation meetings) before visiting and talking to our investigator Eddy about la Caridad* (*Charity). :) Despues, we visited our investigator Mari, investigadora, and shared what happens after death. :) I felt prompted to share 3 Nefi 13: 33 con ellas* (*with them) and the lesson was fantastic and super spiritual. :) Luego, we went to Melanio, Saturnina, y Elizabeth (investigators) and explained baptism and set a baptismal date for February 10th! :D We finished the day visiting Familia Rios, miembros, and watching Meet the Mormons. :)

On Saturday, we spent the morning contacting! We entered into a little mercado* (*market) and still had to contact 15 people to reach our goal... and 15 people EXACTLY came up to me and asked ME for tarjetas de contacto* (*contact cards)! :D So that was SUPER chevere* (*cool). :) After lunch, we visited Gloria, investigator, and explained la vida preterrenal* (*premortal life)! Luego, we visited Edu, converso, and talked about the ley de castidad*(*the law of Chastity) before going to Fam. Llacua, conversos, where I taught some guitar and we taught them about la ley de castidad tambien* (*the law of chastity too)! We then went to Luz Maria, less active, and talked about the importancia de paciencia* (*importance of patience). :)

Domingo* (*Sunday)! Church was awesome and they asked me to share a little bit of Reformation history (my specialty :) ) in the Soc. Soc.! :D Our pension went out of town for the week, so we cooked and I made pasta, and tomato sauce from scratch! :) Era bien rico* (*it was very rich). The classic. :) Our citas* (*appointments) fell through, so we contacted before visiting Maryori, menos activa, and talking about the proposito de pruebas* (*the purpose of trials). :) Luego, we went to Fam. Huaman, conversos, and got to know them. :) I've grown to absolutely love the ward and these people here in Chilca. :) Caridad* (*Charity) really is clave*(*key) for the obra del Señor* (*work of the Lord) to work. :) Cambios*(*Transfers) are coming up next Monday, so on Sunday I'll know my destiny for next transfer. Vamos a ver que pasa* (*Let’s see what happens). :)

"The Savior has admonished us to become even as He is. Thus, following the Lord includes emulating Him. We continue to come to know the Lord as we seek through the power of His Atonement to become like Him." - Bednar

As an apostle once said, we cannot sleepwalk on the path of discipleship. We can't accidentally come to know and love our Savior. We must ACT. We must exercise faith in Him, follow Him, serve Him, believe Him, and trust Him to become even as He is. :)

Con amor y mis oraciones para siempre jamas* (*With love and my prayers forever and ever),

Hermana Schmid
