WEEK 50: Call me Taylor Swift (also, how did we get to 50 weeks here??)
Listen to short message (recording) from Hermana Schmid for this week here.
Pensamiento Espiritual* (*Spiritual Thought): Deuteronomy 4: 9
P.day* (*preparation day) once more! Nada de descanso, pero Bueno* (*No rest, but good). We took Hna Duran to the dentist to get her wisdom teeth taken out, we went to take out money, we went back and bought Hna Duran antibiotics, we went to the clinica* (*medical clinic) for me, we ate lunch, we talked to Presidente Silva, we bought food, and... there went P-day. :( I stayed the rest of the day with Hna Aramayo and we watched church videos. :)
Martes* (*Tuesday), we started off with a district meeting in English! :D Esparza and I gave a training on obedience. :) Then Esparza got braces, we ate lunch, and did CRAZY divisions! I went with Hna Huanaco to Los Andes, Esparza went with Murugosa to Pilcomayo, Cadena stayed in Tambo with Vilela, and Aramayo rested with Silva. Whoo. Yeah. Complicado, no* (*Complicated, no)? We did lots of visits and went to the clinic and got my test results- and it turns out that on top of fuerte gastritis* (*severe gastritis) I also have an intestinal infection! YAY! :D more pills. I stayed the night in Los Andes and met a fantastic woman, Elaine, converso* (*convert), who speaks Italian so I got to practice lots with her. :) she's my favorite and it made my day!!!
Wednesday! After finishing up divisions with Los Andes, we met with all of the missionaries in Huancayo for a worldwide missionary transmission from SLC where they talked about the doctrine of Christ and gave us a new horario* (*schedule) and only 4 key indicators! :) Super interesting. We spent a buen rato* (*spent a lot of time) doing reconciliacion de fondo A* (*background reconciliation). All of our citas* (*appointments) fell through today, but we found an "Arbolibro" in the park- a box book exchange! So naturally, I put in a LDM* (*Book of Mormon) with a super dramatic note in it. "True happiness is in your grasp. You decide what you make of it." And the next day, somebody had taken it! Bendiciones* (*Blessings). :) Hopefully they call.
On Thursday, we spent the morning helping the Mariscal Castilla sisters move to a brilliant new cuarto* (*room). :) After lunch, we contacted and then actually got trapped in a children's party of a less active where they all decided that I was Elsa from Frozen. But a super big blessing came out of it- they lent me a GUITAR. :D So I'm definitely going to sing and contact this week. :) We also visited Judith, less active, and got to know her. :)
Friday, we did divisions again! I went to Concepcion with Hna. Christensen. Concepcion reminds me of Oxa but cold. :) BEAUTIFUL. We visited lots of great people and talked lots with Hna Christensen and she's just great! :) We came back to stay the night in Tambo and I got to catch up with Hna. Vallejo, which was a definite highlight. :)
Sabado* (*Saturday) began with a multizona* (*multi-zone meeting) to explain the new horario* (*schedule) and clarify our missionary purpose. :) After lunch, we ended up contacting and visiting twins, Andrea y* (*and) Ariana, and talking about la oracion* (*prayer)! :) We also stopped by to visit Omar, converso* (*convert), and I sang some hymns to celebrate his birthday and we got to know lots of members! :D We finished off the day with correlacion* (*correlation meeting). :)
Domingo* (*Sunday)! The capilla* (*church) was great and we had 4 investigators come. :) Highlight of the day? We took the guitar to the park and I sang and played hymns while we contacted. :D It was SO fun. I absolutely love how I've been able to integrate so much music into missionary work lately. :) We spent the rest of the day getting the Hna. Silva (from Brazil) ready and off due to knee problems back to Brazil.
I feel like I haven't had a normal or restful week since getting to Tambo, but no se preocupen, lo amo* (*no worries, I love it). :D
"La fe es el poder. La obediencia es el precio. El amor es el motivo. El espiritu es la clave. Cristo es la razon."* (*”Faith is the power, obedience is the price. Love is the motive. The Spirit is the key. Christ is the reason.”)
"No misfortune is so bad that whining about it won't make it worse." - Holland
LES QUIERO MUCHISIMO, que pasa este semana muy bien y que Dios les bendiga* (*I love you very much, have a great week this week and may God bless you). :)
Con amor y mis oraciones para siempre jamas* (*With love and my prayers forever),
Hermana Schmid
